Boo’s Army

We’re making the impossible, possible, by taking part in Australia's Walk & Jog Challenge to raise much needed funds for dementia research.

We’re taking part in Australia’s Walk & Jog Challenge in honour of Alison’s beloved Dad, Bill, who bravely battled dementia and passed away last November.

Bill was an incredibly intelligent and capable man—always learning, always teaching. He had a sharp mind, a deep love of history, and a talent for fixing and building just about anything. He was someone people turned to for answers, advice, and clever solutions. To watch dementia slowly steal that away was truly heartbreaking.

Dementia doesn’t discriminate. It doesn’t care how smart, strong, or kind someone is. It took Bill’s memory, his independence, and eventually, his spark—piece by piece. For Alison and her family, it was devastating to witness such a brilliant mind fade.

We’re walking in his memory—to honour who he was and to help raise vital funds for the Dementia Australia Research Foundation. The money we raise will go toward life-changing research into the causes, diagnosis, treatment, and—one day—a cure.

If you’re able, please support our efforts with a donation. Every step and every dollar makes a difference.

Thank you so much.
